Privacy Policy — Shiny Wood and SWHQ

Last updated: 8 October 2026

Who we are

Shiny Wood Limited is responsible for personal information processed through shinywood.co.uk and its internal SWHQ marketing application. For privacy questions or requests, email carl@shinywood.uk.

What this notice covers

This website is currently a holding site. SWHQ is being developed to help our team manage content, product catalogues and reporting for brands we own or are authorised to manage. Its Pinterest connection is subject to platform approval and account authorisation. The application information below describes the intended operation of that connection; it does not mean Pinterest access is already active.

Information we use and why

Each account must authorise its own connection. Connecting an account is optional; without the necessary permissions we cannot provide the corresponding account functions. This application is for authorised business users, not a public service for children.

Our reasons for processing personal information

We rely on our legitimate interests in operating a secure website, answering business enquiries and supporting authorised business marketing. Where processing is necessary to perform a contract with you, we rely on that contract. We rely on legal obligations where we must keep or disclose information by law, and consent where it is required for an optional activity. Platform authorisation controls access to your account and is separate from these legal grounds.

Pinterest data and AI-assisted work

The Pinterest connection is intended to retrieve account information when needed rather than build a stored copy of Pinterest. Storage and use of API information will be limited to what Pinterest permits; permitted campaign analytics are used only for the authorised account’s reporting. Brand content and account work are kept distinct. We do not sell Pinterest API information or use it to target people on other advertising platforms.

AI-assisted tools may help our team prepare content using information and assets the team supplies. Pinterest API information will not be used to train or improve AI models. Any processing through an AI connector must remain within Pinterest’s permissions and applicable data protection requirements. Users must select and authorise the Pins and actions carried out for their account. SWHQ is not intended to make decisions about individuals with legal or similarly significant effects.

Who receives information

Access is limited to authorised team members and service providers needed for the relevant function, such as website hosting, email, secure storage and technical support. Hostinger hosts this website. Pinterest receives the content and requests sent through an authorised connection and processes information under its own privacy policy. We may disclose information where required by law or necessary to protect legal rights.

Where a service provider processes personal information outside the UK, we must use an applicable adequacy arrangement or appropriate contractual safeguards before making a restricted transfer. Contact us for information about safeguards relevant to your data. Additional integrations or uses requiring different disclosures will be reflected in this notice before they are introduced.

Retention, disconnection and deletion

We keep enquiry and operational records only while needed to deal with the enquiry, provide the authorised service, investigate security issues or meet legal requirements. Retention depends on those purposes, the sensitivity of the information, applicable platform rules and any unresolved dispute or legal requirement. We do not retain data merely because storage is available.

You can revoke access through your Pinterest account’s connected-app settings. You can also email carl@shinywood.uk to request disconnection or deletion of SWHQ-held data. Include the relevant account name, but do not send passwords or access tokens. We may need to verify your authority before acting. When access ends, we stop using the connection and remove credentials and data that are no longer needed, subject to applicable legal requirements. Protected backup copies are restricted from ordinary use and expire through the backup lifecycle. Content already published on Pinterest remains there unless separately removed through the account.

Cookies and security

This holding site has no advertising or analytics integration installed. WordPress may use necessary cookies for administrator sign-in. We use HTTPS and access restrictions to protect the site and administrative systems. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your personal information. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests, and withdraw consent where processing relies on it. To exercise a right, contact carl@shinywood.uk. You can complain to the UK’s Information Commissioner’s Office.

Changes to this notice

We will update this page as the website and SWHQ application develop. The date above identifies the latest version. Material changes affecting connected users will be communicated where required.
